We are pleased to offer this gorgeous, faithful replica of a globe originally made by cartographer Gerardus Mercator (1512-1594). Publishing his first terrestrial globe circa 1536, Mercator is known for introducing new navigational concepts. This stunning globe was hand-crafted with techniques used in producing the originals, such as the 'gravure' printing process for sharp lines and symbols.
